Am in the home stretch of french knot making. It's been fun rather than tedious because, every time it starts to get tedious, I put it aside and do something else for a while. Yesterday I decided to add a few butterflies from my new sequin collection. Five is a number of destabilizing but ultimately necessary change. So far I've added four and am not yet sure where the fifth will be placed. The sequins are fairly large so I definitely don't want to over-do or they'll distract and detract from the overall feel of the piece.
I made sure the pictures for this post held some element of the hot pink fringe for Jude since she enjoys looking at it. You know there IS a strong connection to the heart center and lower chakra healing. One of the places where people (including me) need to keep that most tangibly in mind is at the sacral-solar bridge. So the serendipitous inclusion of a color that is very nearly magenta (a/k/a the highest vibration of the heart center's green/pink healing rays) has given me a lot of food for meditation as I make my way through the layers of stitching and beaded additions.
The more I work on this piece the more I am glad to be working on it - not just because the color range cannot help but lift the spirits but, also, because I am learning so much about creating a "new" textural [slow] cloth from application of different threads and embellishments. I had not thought of this piece as a holding cloth in fact I have been steadily working on it with the of idea of its eventual home being a very specific bit of wall space. But I don't think it's just meant to be viewed from that standard distance. I think it will also need to be passed around and absorbed at a more personal touch-friendly range...
Indeed this is meant to be a tactile piece, Acey. Devoured not only with the eyes, but with the hands. The new header -- full of energy AND so pretty.

This is certainly a piece that makes the fingers tingle and itch to touch. Colors, textures, design--I can see that it would be a pleasure to work on!
